Monday 17th November-Hurricanes 5 Maidenhead 2
The boys recent rich vein of form saw them overrun Maidenhead with a delicious confection
of determined defense, creative midfield play and lethal finishing. A particularly fine stop from Hadley drew comparisons
with Gordon Banks save from Pele (ask your Dad boys!). See Ray and Johns comments at Coach's Corner.
Next Sunday's (Nov 23rd) match is a home fixture against Boyne Hill Cougars. Details of KO
and squad from Ray and John during the week.
Hurricanes Xmas Party- Sunday 14th December
Ho Ho Ho Hurricanes,
For the past few years we have had a Christmas party for the club
which is not just for the boys but all the family, including Nan, Grandad, siblings etc.
Simon is trying to get us the York Club in the park for the 14th Dec, the same venue as the summer BBQ
and last Xmas bash. Our last game is on the 14th and not back until the 11th Jan (except Dads v Lads that is)
Please
put it in the social diary for that afternoon/evening and we will be getting a working group together to organise food, decorations
etc, so can we have some volunteers for this task (please do not leave it to the usual helpers again).
Last year we did a quiz and some small Christmas pantomime shows, does anyone have any ideas on what
they would like to do instead, IE, live music, etc..
...please advise Ray, John, Bob
Hurricanes Rain Jackets
Great news! We finally have the all-new, club-badged rain jackets for all the boys. This
should mean that there is no more rain for the rest of the season if you apply the law of sod. Either way the team will
look fantastic in the new jackets compared to the collection of different tops they've had to wear up to now.
As you know, many of these get left behind so let's hope the club jacket is more of a prized possession! The jacket
belongs to the boy not the club (unlike the club kit). It's not a PSP but we hope they're still proud of it.
We will start handing them out this weekend on Saturday and Sunday and we'll try and marking each
boy's top with their name on the day. It will still help if you put name tags on the collar hook though.
As we still have a few outstanding club fees to be paid we will need everyone to have paid before
they get their new jacket. We say this in fairness to the majority who have paid but also
because the jackets have come out way above the original budget at nearly £1,000, and of course we have also invested
in the new inflatable goals this year.
With this in mind, if anybody feels inclined to make a small donation towards the cost of the jacket we
will be very grateful. Please don't take this as an expectation or obligation. It is purely voluntary. Even
£5 per person would help towards on-going costs but it's entirely at your discretion.
See you all soon

Thursday Night Training
Dear Parents and Hurricanes,
As you all know we have now moved back inside to the boys school
gym during the cold dark Thursday nights for which the club pay £20 each time.
We have been back for 6 weeks with attendances
of 17,13,16,16,10,14 which has always been below the £20 cost, last year we only fell below the cost twice and had to make
up from club funds, currently we are looking to catch up £34.
We value your input and opinions, do we put it up to
£1.50, do we cancel it after Christmas, or is there a reason why lads are not coming, like other activities on Thursday etc.
We
will continue to monitor this and may put up the cost to £1.50, if there is any objections to this please say, or if the time
or night is bad for some again please say.
Regards Ray, John, Bob
